We landed in Warsaw and I was overcome. Europe. My camera came out at the airport and I held down the clicker for a few hours. Looking back, those first pictures are terrible and boring, but they represent the sense of awe of traveling.

Banners and police were everywhere as Warsaw was preparing for the 10 year reunion of being part of the EU.

To back up…

My girlfriend Gosia and I have been dating a few years and decided to travel to her home country in may 2014. She was born in Poland and came to the States when she was 5 with her family. Prior, I had never given much thought to Poland. I was apathetic to most school subjects especially history. An adventure to kill apathy!

I learned some complicated Polish pronunciations and about 20 words and we were off.
